He came up through the ranks as a young boy to become an Explorer Advisor[=Scoutmaster]. He participated in many training programs and earned his Wood Badge Beads in 1974.

      At St. Pius he was a member of the Mens Club, the Holy Name Society, the Budget Committie, the Finance Committie, an Usher and Head of the Ushers, a Counter, Counter Team Manager and Director of the Counters Program, a High School CCD Teacher, Director of the Parish High School CCD Program and Diocese CCD Director of Education for the Dallas-Ft.Worth Diocese.

      He was a Third Degree and Fourth Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council #799. He also served as Council Chairman of Education for 4 years.

      He was a Tax Preparer for AARP from 1988 to . He also was active in cordinating teams to work tax returns for the Elderly in retirement homes and nursing homes. He was the Local Cordinator at the Casa View Library from 1992 to .

      He loved all outside activities; his cabin in the country, yard and garden work, work on his home, football, hunting, fishing, boating, woodwork, tools, music, beer, kids, dogs, photography, his Mac Computer, travel and most of all his wife and family.

      He was fascinated with every thing German. He studied the language and had many records, tapes and books on Germany. He spoke it at every opportunity.
