He is the son of Jacob Naff Sr. & Eva Catherine (Flory) Naff. He was most likely born in Frederick, MD and came with his family to Franklin County, VA as a small child. He married Magdalena "Polly" Brewer on Nov 14, 1803. They operated a farm which was part of the original Jacob Naff Sr. tract, located beyond the junction of the North & South Forks of Magoddee Creek. His gravesite is marked with a fieldstone engraved "D N Sept 22 1848". The gravesite can be located using GPS at N 37/08.730' , W 80/00.913'.
