She was a missionary and died in Singapore, Malaysia.
Mary Florence Wright, daughter of Rev. T.B. and Emma D. Wright, was born eight miles eat of Girard, Jan. 28, 1879. Having completed a common school education, she went to Northwestern University and graduated from the classical department of that school June 20, 1901. While attending this college she became acquainted with Rev. Kingsley Pease, who was attending the same school. June 27, 1901, they were married at her parents' home in Rochester, and both immediately accepted an appointment as missionary teachers of the Methodist Episcopal church, and were ordered to Malaysia. Oct. 5, 1901, they left Rochester for their field of labor....
If her remains must rest in a heathen land and under a foreign flag, in this she will have as companions many of the greatest patriots and philantropists the world has every known. A father, a loving step-mother, a half-sister and other relvatives survive.
Memorial services were held in the Rochester M.E. church on Sunday evening, March 29, 1903, at 7:30 pm conducted by Revs. J.M. Titterington, T.M. Dillon, J.A. Clemens and R.S. Haney. All the christians of Rochester united in this service.
